Homeowners in southern Door County are reminded to lock their homes and garages, after several break-ins were reported to the Door County Sheriff’s Department in the past week.
Garages were broken into in the town of Nasewaupee, with suspects gaining entry by going through unlocked doors or windows and damaging doors to get inside, according to a press release from Door County Sheriff Terry Vogel.
Some entries were made while the home owners were asleep in their homes, Vogel said. The suspects stole sporting equipment and firearms. Burglaries have also been reported in other parts of Door County.
“Items of significant value should be locked away in their homes or elsewhere,” he said.
Anyone with information about these break-ins should contact Investigative Sgt. Connie Schuster at (920) 746-2428.
