An Algoma man will spend up to 335 days in jail after being sentenced in Door County Circuit Court to a fifth offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Peter J. Roble, 55, pleaded no contest Jan. 9 to his fifth OWI, stemming from an arrest Nov. 23, 2012. Judge D. Todd Ehlers found him guilty. Three other charges – failing to install an ignition interlock device, operating while revoked, and operating with a prohibited alcohol content – were dismissed but read into the record for sentencing.
Ehlers also placed Roble on three years probation, ordered him to undergo counseling, and levied fines and court costs of $4,759. He is eligible for work release but his driver's license was revoked for 36 months and he must have an ignition interlock device installed on any vehicle he drives.
