    Wills, Norma Jean

    Norma Jean Wills, 78, Monona, passed away after a brief, but brave battle with cancer on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, surrounded by her family at St. Mary's Care Center in Madison. She was born on March 16, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Hermbrott) Ulmer. Norma and Belden began their life together on June 11, 1955, in Chicago, Ill. They moved to Door County in 1967, raised their family and stayed for 40 years. They spent the last five years in Monona.

    Stew greeted the world Sept. 11, 1918, in Gallupville, N.Y. He was born in his grandfather's farmhouse, where his father had been born many years before. He completed his life on Feb. 17, 2012. Stew was the only child of Dewitt and Mae Griggs of Oneonta, N.Y. He received his B.S. degree from Hartwick College and his medical degree from the University of Buffalo. Stew served his residency in pediatrics at the Milwaukee Children's Hospital.

She and her twin sister, Shirley, were adopted by George and Regina Wessel, Algoma, when they were seven years old. Sharon attended St. Paul's Lutheran School and was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in 1958.

    Leonard Sylvester Kerscher, 88, Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Feb. 8, 2012, at Whispering Pines in Sturgeon Bay. He was born on May 14, 1923, in Door County, to Leo and Mathilda (Alexander) Kerscher. On June 11, 1947, he married Pearl Meunier in Maplewood; she preceded him in death on Feb. 16, 2007. Leonard was a welder at Bay Ship Building and had his own welding business. He also worked for Algoma Hardwoods for a number of years.

    Roger Dewey Haskell, 81, Sturgeon Bay, passed into eternal life on Feb. 8, 2012, in Sturgeon Bay at Ministry Door County Medical Center. He was born on Dec. 9, 1930, in Sturgeon Bay to Dewey and Louise (Diefenbach) Haskell. Roger served his country in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Curley's Cleaners in Sturgeon Bay from 1984 to 1999. On Dec. 19, 1980, he married Janet M. Fernandez in Sturgeon Bay.

    Cecelia M. (Alexander) (Wilquet) Gruetzmacher, 91, Green Bay, died Monday morning, Feb. 6, 2012. She was born on Nov. 1, 1920, to the late Dan and Rose (Waulet) Alexander in Forestville, Wis. On Oct. 28, 1937, she married Walter W. Wilquet, they lived in the Sturgeon Bay area, maintaining a dairy farm and also raised and sold Registered Ayrshire Cattle, setting many state and national records. In 1959, she moved to Green Bay and worked for a brief time at The Club Sierra as a cook.

In 1978, she married Donald F. Domencich in West Bend, Wis. Donna worked as an Apprenticeship Coordinator for the Federal Dept. of Labor for many years. Throughout her life, Donna was extremely active in a variety of organizations.

Daniel liked playing cards, playing with superheroes and transformers, loved fishing, and vacationing at Aunt Margaret and Uncle Tim's cabin.

She was an inspiring and outgoing person whose smile would light up the room. Andrea was an aspiring chef and had a beautiful singing voice. She played the violin, giving impromptu concerts to her aunts and uncles. She loved her dog, Maddie, and horses. She enjoyed playing volleyball at high school and was in the archery club.

    Evagene Alice Brown, DeLand Fla., passed away on Jan. 23, 2012. She was born on May 21, 1926, in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., to Leo and Alma Madoche. Jean was a nurse and a former airline stewardess with American Airlines. On July 19, 1952, she married William C. Brown and they had two children, William (Billy) and Susan. Jean and Bill spent a lifetime enjoying travel around the world and raising their family before retiring to Florida in 1980. Bill preceded her in death in 1996 and Billy in 2004.

    Richard J. Eudeikis, 88, Eagle River, passed away on Jan. 16, 2012. He was born on Nov. 14, 1923. He served his country in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He was with the love of his life, Lillian Eudeikis for over 60 years. He was a proud and accomplished Industrial Arts teacher and coach at Sturgeon Bay Junior High during the 1960's and 1970's. He will be greatly missed and is survived by his wife, seven children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
