The Baileys Harbor Historical Society invites you to see a fabulous display of vintage jewelry at the McArdle Library just in time for Valentine's Day. Also on display are plat books for Baileys Harbor from 1899 and 1999. It's an interesting display of land ownership over a 100-year span.

It is so nice to have this mild weather. I do feel worried about the farms and orchards and our tourist industry, however. On an interesting note, the sandhill cranes have arrived in Nebraska at the Platte River on their migration — they are a month early this year. I hope this means an early spring without a later frost.
